Dishoom - Shoreditch
Notes
Dishoom is hugely popular, so eating here as a coeliac can feel intimidating — but the Shoreditch branch handled it well. When I mentioned gluten-free requirements, the staff immediately brought out an allergen menu and talked me through safe options.
I chose the chicken ruby curry, served with plain basmati rice. The curry was rich, mildly spiced, and incredibly comforting, with tender chicken and a tomato-based sauce that didn’t overpower the dish.
While not everything on the menu is gluten-free, the staff were clear about what was safe and how dishes are handled in the kitchen. It’s worth asking questions here, but the team were patient and well-informed.
We skipped naan (sadly!) but shared a selection of gluten-free sides, which still made the meal feel indulgent.
Overall: A great option for gluten-free Indian food if you’re happy to communicate clearly. Busy, vibrant, and full of flavour — just plan ahead.
