Welcome to Glutenfree Tribe (“we”, “us”, “our”). These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website, mobile experiences, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. About our Service

Glutenfree Tribe helps people discover gluten-free places to eat, follow creators, browse recipes, and read stories. We host creator-generated content and community reviews/ratings. We do not operate restaurants, caterers, or brands listed on the Service.

2. Eligibility & accounts

• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use the Service.
• If you are 16 or 17, you should ensure you have the permission of a parent or guardian before using the Service.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

3. Creator content & licence to us

You retain ownership of your Creator Content. By submitting or publishing Creator Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, publish, publicly display, distribute, and otherwise use your Creator Content (and, where relevant, your display name, profile name, and avatar in connection with that content) for the purpose of operating, improving, and promoting the Service (including in emails, search results, social posts, and across our domains), in any media now known or later developed.

You can delete your Creator Content at any time from your account or by contacting us; however, copies made for operational, backup, or legal purposes may persist for a reasonable period, and some content may remain visible where it has been shared or interacted with by other users.

You represent and warrant that:

• You have all rights necessary to grant the licence above (including rights in any photos, videos, or other media you upload).
• Your Creator Content is lawful and complies with these Terms and applicable law.
• Your Creator Content is based on your genuine experience, and any statements presented as fact are true and capable of being substantiated if challenged.
• Your Creator Content does not contain false, misleading, defamatory, or unlawful statements about any person or business.
• Your Creator Content does not infringe the rights of any third party (including intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights).

You remain solely responsible for your Creator Content.

4. Community reviews, ratings & feedback

• Users may post reviews, ratings, comments, and suggestions (“Feedback”). Feedback must be honest, relevant, and lawful.
• Feedback should be based on genuine experience. Opinions should be stated as personal experience. Do not make allegations of misconduct or unlawful behaviour unless you have verifiable evidence.
• We may use Feedback without restriction or compensation.
• We may moderate, edit, restrict access to, or remove Feedback at any time, for any reason or no reason, including to comply with law, protect users, or maintain the quality of the Service. We are not obligated to publish, maintain, or reinstate any Feedback.
• Businesses should not post or solicit fake reviews or incentives in exchange for positive ratings.
• Reviews and ratings reflect the personal opinions and experiences of creators and users, not the views of Glutenfree Tribe. We do not independently verify the accuracy of all Feedback.

5. Prohibited content & behaviour

You agree not to, and will not assist others to:

• Post unlawful, misleading, defamatory, obscene, hateful, or harassing content.
• Post content that infringes third-party rights (copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights).
• Scrape, crawl, index, or use automated means to access the Service (except for public search engine caching consistent with robots.txt).
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service, or circumvent security or access controls.
• Post or link to malware, phishing, or spam.

6. Allergen, medical & dietary disclaimers

• Restaurant & product information: Listings may contain user-generated descriptions and third-party details. We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or current status (e.g., menu changes, cross-contamination practices, or certification).
• Always verify in person: If you have coeliac disease or severe allergies, verify with the venue directly before consuming food or drink. Ask about cross-contamination, ingredients, preparation, and supplier changes.
• No medical advice: Information on the Service is for general information only and is not medical advice. Consult a qualified healthcare professional regarding your dietary needs.
• You are solely responsible for decisions relating to your diet, allergies, or health.

7. Intellectual property

The Service (including the design, text, graphics, software, and trademarks) is owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. Except for your Creator Content and as expressly permitted by these Terms, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service.

8. Moderation, takedowns & repeat infringement

We may remove, restrict access to, or otherwise moderate content that we believe violates these Terms or the law, or to protect users, creators, partners, or the Service. We do not undertake to monitor all activity or content on the Service and cannot guarantee that inappropriate or unlawful content will be removed immediately.

If we receive a complaint about content (including Feedback), we may temporarily remove or restrict access to the content while we investigate. We may contact the Creator for clarification or supporting information and may request further details from the complainant. We reserve the right, at our discretion, to determine whether content complies with these Terms and applicable law, and whether it should be reinstated, amended, restricted, or removed.

If you believe content infringes your rights, please email: hello@theglutenfreetribe.com with details (URL, description, your contact info, and proof of rights). We operate a repeat infringer policy for accounts with multiple valid infringement notices.

If you are a business and believe a review is inaccurate or unfair, you may contact us at the email above with supporting information. We encourage fair and constructive dialogue, but we retain final editorial discretion.

9. No endorsement

The inclusion of any business, listing, review, rating, recipe, or other content on Glutenfree Tribe does not constitute endorsement, recommendation, verification, or approval by Glutenfree Tribe.

Reviews and ratings reflect the personal opinions and experiences of creators and users. Glutenfree Tribe does not independently verify the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of all user-generated content.

10. Third-party links & partners

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We do not endorse or assume responsibility for them. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their terms and privacy policies.

11. Changes to the Service

We may add, change, or remove features, temporarily or permanently, without notice. We are not liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service. We do not guarantee that any particular feature, content, or functionality will always be available.

12. Paid promotions & disclosures

Creators must comply with applicable advertising and disclosure rules (e.g., clearly marking sponsored posts, gifted meals, affiliate links). You are solely responsible for your compliance with ASA/CAP guidance and other applicable laws.

13. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied (including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, accuracy, and non-infringement). We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law: we (and our directors, employees, and suppliers) will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising out of or related to your use of the Service, including reliance on any User Content or Feedback, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) £50 or (b) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (e.g., death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms affects any non-excludable rights you have under UK consumer law.

15. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your Creator Content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

16. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms or if necessary to protect the Service or its users. Upon termination, the rights granted to you under these Terms will end.

Some Creator Content may remain available after termination where it has been shared or viewed by other users, or where retention is required for legal, safety, or operational reasons.

17. Governing law & venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from or related to these Terms or the Service.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated Terms on this page with a new effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
